As I watch the news today,

and tragic events unfold,

the cameras are running,

as the stories are told.

Homes and lives devastated,
by nature and its force.

The pain of the people,

felt around the world of course.

Children lost in the trauma,
memories destroyed in the aftermath,
time to pick up the pieces,
and forge along another path.

It may take days, it may take weeks,
or possible many years,
but things can be rebuilt,
when we wipe away our tears.

Although we can’t be there with you,
know that we share your pain.
We watch as you move forward,

As you build your life again.

Know that the world watches,
for a light, and a little hope.

We hope you find a lifeline,

at the end of your rope.

You face many challenges,
you are hurting now,

things will get better,
and will re-born somehow.

Among the wreckage and the ruins,
through the toil and the trouble,
a new path is waiting,
below the damage and rubble.

Look for the little things,
look for the light,
the darkness will soon be over,
and the world will unite.

We share in your pain,
we share in your re-birth,
it could be us one day,
as we all share this earth.

As the rescue mission starts,
and you uncover what remains,
know that we hold out our hands,
and also bear the pain.

You have friends that are watching,
and offering but a prayer,

but know that we are here,
know that we truly care.
