Vote and help save our Cart and Belonging Storage Facility for the Homeless in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside! 

First United entered a contest to win a $25,000 grant from Pepsi to help fund this facility.  It is now time to vote and we need your help to save this essential service in our community.  Funding runs out in October.  We need EVERYBODY’S help!  Please spread the word to your family and friends.

Goals of the project are to:

1.      Provide homeless people in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside a safe place to store their belongings

2.      Foster self-respect and dignity in people who are homeless

3.      Provide jobs for people from Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside community

4.      Build relationships and trust within this community

Starting today, please:

1.      Go to http://www.refresheverything.ca/login and register!  (required, but it’s quick and easy)

2.      Then go to http://www.refresheverything.ca/firstunitedchurch (check the short video about the project)

3.      Click on the “Vote for this idea” button. 

4.      You are allowed to vote once each day. Please VOTE AS MANY TIMES AS YOU CAN OVER THE NEXT 2 MONTHS (as the winner will be the idea with the most votes by October 31^st).  To make it easy for you, you can bookmark this link and to not forget, put a reminder in your Outlook calendar or your phone, whatever suits you best!

5.      Tell everyone you know!   Invite everyone to vote!  The more the better!
