Truth or Fantasy? 2013 08 18 Jer 23:15-32
A mother asked her son what he learned in Sunday School. He said that Moses led the Israelites on a pontoon bridge across the Red Sea while God sent fighter aircraft to stop the Egyptian soldiers from attacking them. She was surprised and asked if that was really what he was taught. He said, "No, but if I told you what she said, you wouldn't believe me."
My story for this Sunday was on the Platinum Rule. Mary loved strawberries, but her friend John was allergic to strawberries. They were bringing snacks for a trip, and strawberries were in season, and were absolutely delicious. Mary decided to bring grapes, because takig something John could eat was more important to her than taking what she loved. The Platinum Rule is loving our neighbour as they need to be loved, not treating someone as we want to be treated. My message was as follows.

Trinity Sunday, May 26, 2013; Proverbs 8:1-4,22-31
Here is a little story about Jesus. Jesus asked his disciples who they thought he was.
They replied, "You are the eschatological manifestation of the ground of our being, the kerygma of which we find the ultimate meaning of our interpersonal relationships."
And Jesus said, "What?"
