Saint Monster

I started a new novel, yes a novel, not short stories, a full, awesome novel, titled "Saint Monster." The two words fight against itself and in the book as well. How can anyone have such a name, one, Godly, the other, Evil? Never-the-less, Steven has managed to pull that off. Steven is the main character in the book. As a boy, growing up on a farm and watching MTV and other influential shows, his desire for the big city grew until he couldn't contain it anymore and runs away to the land of cotton candy, so he thinks. What he finds right away, on arriving, is far from it-but he fights within, against his conscience, against everything that tells him to go back home. So instead of being the prodigal son and returning back home, he ventures further into the dark, pushing away his conscience locking it in a vault and throwing away the key. The evils that plague our minds, our streets, the dark of the night, the unholy acts of a monster from the closet, sneaks out and blankets Steven slowly, ever so slowly, choking the life that his parents taught him, killing the farm boy-giving life to a corpse-becoming the Monster. Now you might wonder where does the Saint come in. Well, you'll have to wait for the next blog, or the book.
