Of Time and Relative Dimensions in Space

See video
(a tribute to a TV legend on its 50th anniversary)

There it is again,
The flashing light,
The strange wheezing, groaning engine that warps time and space to its will.

The blue box is back,
To carry us away,
As companions to the strange man with the white hair,
     Or the tin flute,
          or the sonic screwdriver,
               or psychic paper,
                    or jelly babies.
The man who lost his world, but seeks to save others.

Adventure awaits.
Danger, too.
But we are not afraid.
These are what we seek,
When we venture on this journey,
When we join the man in his blue box,
And fade away on another voyage.

The video is the opening sequence and original arrangement of the Dr. Who theme from the first doctor era. Video below strings together all the openings and arrangements of the theme from 1963 to the present (with intertitles identifying when each was used). Presumably it's up for another revamp when the 12th Doctor starts next year.

FYI, the years are for the BBC. Back when I was watching classic Who in the seventies and eighties we were sometimes as much as 6 or 7 years behind. Not like today when we pretty much get them within a few months of the Brits.
