Yesterday Walter Sowa sent me a wonderful memory of Bob McClure (Moderator from 1968 to 1971.) I just had to share it:
Bob McClure once spoke to our congregation at Erindale. He had two things to say to us: first, church congregations should be joyful if you want others to come in (and he demonstrated how you should walk, with a bounce, not shuffling in slow motion); and, second, he had high hopes for humankind because we are adaptable. We are made that way.
He was a very good pragmatic teacher.
Indeed he was, Walter, and thank you!
