Spinrite Factory Outlet at 230 Elma St in Listowel Ontario is Knitters' Paradise..
This store is Heaven on Earth for anyone looking to buy knitting supplies; they'll find no greater selection of high quality coloured yarn this side of Montreal, and no better prices anywhere else in Canada.
Last week , 12th Nov 2013 I drove out to Listowel and gathered testimonials and impressions and enough experience to enable me to write a detailed travel blog entry about shopping for knitting supplies featuring a review on Trip Advisor about Spinrite Factory Outlet with ten photos.
So I can tell you first hand this place is well stocked. There are bins full of bright coloured yarn in the center of the store ready to be transformed into sweaters and scarves.
The shelves contain complete collections of Patons and Phentex yarns, Peaches and Cream and best selling yarns Bernat, and Lily. Here you'll find full colour ranges and age groupings - different wool for different age people
There are hundreds of pattern books to inspire beginners and veterans alike. The place also has hard-to-find knitting implements, buttons, zippers, beads and gems and other high fashion accessories.
The spaces above the shelves are filled with knitwear and crochet items on display, including elaborate sweaters, simple socks, adorable baby wear and cozy afghans have been set out to inspire shoppers and spark visitors' creativity.
But actually the best resource here is the staff; it could be worth driving seventy miles from Toronto just to interview them.
Ever wondered what the inside of the Spinrite woolen mill in Listowel Ontario looks like?
Read the Fuel Ghoul piece about getting a private tour of Spinrite wool mill to understand more about how the dye machines work and the packaging processes that happen here - the science of dying wool is thousands of years old but today these modern machines spin, style and shrinkwrap the product so perfectly, and the dyes are so much better and make bright colours that wont fade.
Below are several barrels of super soft coloured fibre at the beginning of a long journey through the plant.

Inside the Reeling Room, skeins of coloured yarn are wound and cut before being packed in cardboard boxes. The finishing process has four stages; the wool is balled and then labelled, shrink wrapped, boxed and sent to the trucks.
The Reeling Room, nuff said
Just look at the soft fuzzy pink Bernat brand yarn for babies being born and issuing from the steel machines...
