A Church on the Moon?

moon base, search water, pvc trim, insulated concrete panels, metal roofThis summer, the Chinese government was the first to declare its intended colonization of the Moon. And that means that European Union and America will follow shortly thereafter and probably achieve more results first. We could have the foments of a moon base by 2014, and there's sure to be a hotel and casino within a few years after that. But who will build the Church?

What an exciting time to be alive. The proposed establishment of permanent human communities on the Moon will advance science and knowledge immeasurably and also provide an excellent destination for Space tourists. Advocates of space exploration have seen settlement of the Moon as a logical step in the expansion of humanity beyond the Earth. But who will build the first church?

Remember, in past colonizations, the Church was always one of the first buildings erected in new territories. What about now? I have been asking this question aloud for some time and have been approaching construction industry material sponsors to ask if they would donate space age building material to such a project in a few years time. And to my surprise a great many folks have already said yes!

church in space, pvc trim, insulated concrete forms, metal roof

Already on my Moon Church, I have a metal roof company that manufacturers aluminum shingles that are lightweight yet very durable. Add to that list free insulated concrete forms which are made from rigid Stryofoam and are easy to assemble and the foam stays in the wall after the concrete is poured. The process halfs labor costs and material costs. The cement will be manufactured on the moon's surface from reagolith (moon dust) that makes up the entire geography. And a great pvc trim company has also donated material for interior and exterior church mouldings, perhaps even some pvc gargoyles.   And many other manufacturers have come on board and announced they are interested in hearing more about the progranm when its slightly more viable. What about you? If you'd like to get involved in the Moon Church program, please PM me.
