In the midst of her busy responsibilities as General Secretary of the Canadian Council of Churches, the Rev. Dr. Karen Hamilton has found the time to write this beautiful little book about the Psalms. The title is well chosen, because the reader is invited to experience the Psalms, not in an academic sense, but as companions to daily life.

 

 

The first part of the book covers, in question and answer format, the very kinds of things that many of us wonder about the Psalms. The remainder of the book provides interesting information about certain Psalms, and offers questions for reflection.

 

 

The whole thing is presented in very readable style and length. This is the kind of book that you can toss into your purse or backpack for your spare moments while traveling, or that you could use as the springboard for some fascinating conversations with fellow seekers.
