When does abortion become birth control?

In the abortion thread people mentioned that they wished it wasn't used as a form of birth control.

At what point would you say that someone is using abortion as birth control?

'thousands' of abortions done in canada because the fetus is female...

http://lifestyle.sympatico.ca/living/why_are_canadians_aborting_female_f...

this stuns me...

at this moment, i think that abortions should be legal in canada.  whenever the government gets around to ensuring that child poverty is dealt with and foster care is to the point where there is a home for ALL children, i will continue to support abortion rights in canada.

however, this story makes me step back.

What is Happening in Quebec

I still have a hard problem believing what happened last week in Quebec..

Last week end Cardinal Ouellet of Quebec denounced abortion, at a pro-life rally, even in cases of rape he answered when asked.

Is "middle-ground" possible when talking about abortion?

Hey all,

Just saw this recent article Jim Wallis from Sojourners in the US wrote on Barack Obama's visit to Notre Dame, where he apparently spoke about abortion:

http://blog.sojo.net/2009/05/21/discovering-common-ground/

Take a look at the article, and then answer this question, if you're so inclined: Do you think it's possible for there to be "middle-ground" on abortion?

abortion

i have a few questions about abortion that i'd love to hear everyone's opinion on, so here they are.

Regardless of religion and politics everyone can pretty much agree that killing is wrong (death penalty and war put aside 'cause we could argue those forever),  ending a human life is (and should be) against the law and everyone's morals, right? so the real question is when exactly does life begin?
