"ADP" Spam Spam Spam Spam

Spread the word, people: there's Spam flying around the internet CLAIMING to be from ADP.

Danger Danger: Do Not Open!! Delete Delete!!

ADP will NEVER email a treasurer, or minister, or anyone about their personal account, business or pastoral charge account: Delete the Spam. Much like the now (hopefully easily recognized) Nigerian prince scam, this method uses a Very well used service provider (1/5 people in North America have a human resource related service, either payroll or other service, from ADP)

If you aren't sure, then CALL ADP: 1-877-377-4784.

Please Share: Spam (not) from UCCan service providers

Please Share this with anyone/everyone: The United Church's service providers will NEVER email you (unless you are actually expecting them to; that's a different story). Currently, email using ADP's name is being circulated around Canada: THIS IS SPAM. DELETE IT: do not click any links in this email.

If you aren't sure, by all means CALL ADP, or your bank, insurance company or other company.

Save Money With ADP

When it came to our annual report this year, I was surprised to see our cost for ADP payroll was so low; about $260/yeear, with four full time staff. When I asked our treasurer about it, he said the secret was to pay staff on the 15th of the month by cheque or direct fund transfer (no charge at our credit union) and treat it as a salary advance. ADP pays staff by direct deposit at the end of the month and records the funds transfer on the 15th as an advance.

Centralized Payroll Now Mandatory

Just received word that while 82% of pastoral charges are now enrolled in the centralized payroll system, presbyteries have been directed by the MEPS (Permanent Committee) that they can now only approve calls, appointments and settlements if the pastoral charge is now enrolled in the centralized payroll system. The goal is 100% enrollment. If your congregation isn't enrolled and you have an appointment coming up effective July 1, you might want to move on this.

centralized payroll

What's with the centralized payroll system for our national church.

In June 09, the pay for all of our paid accountable ministers goes from each congregation's treasurer to a company , ADP, to each ministers at a cost of $15.00 per minister per pay.  That's about $400 a year for a minister who is paid every two weeks.

How many local treasurers have not been paying their ministers?

How many ministers modify their views to keep from annoying their local treasurer?
