Sentience

Don't ever end a sentience with a proposition.

-- From the Happy Genius Book "I Think Existence Is Really Interesting"

At your local book store now. Hiding.

Sentience. What a neat-o word.

More and more of them there science guys are saying that EVERYTHING is sentient.

Including your coffee maker. Yes!

Think about it.

Now think about something else.

Wait!

You know your dogs and cats are sentient. But plants and worms and rocks!

A quote. A quiz. An idea to ponder

Who wrote the following? (I f you know just give the initials, so I'll know who you are)

"With the virtue of memory and the passage of time, a thing can become more than itself, hence progress is possible,"

I've been thinking about that for a long time. With neurology honing in on the function of conjectured nano-tubes operating within the neurons in your think-box, we might yet be soon able to understand just what consciousness IS. It's thought that the main purposr of memory is to enable predictions.

Any thoughts?

Perception

A man sat at a metro station in Washington DC and started to play the violin; it was a cold January morning. He played six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes. During that time, since it was rush hour, it was calculated that thousands of people went through the station, most of them on their way to work.

Three minutes went by and a middle aged man noticed there was musician playing. He slowed his pace and stopped for a few seconds and then hurried up to meet his schedule.
