Helping Others -- Cancer Treatments

Hi folks

I know there are wise and compassionate folks on this site.

I also recognize that there are those who have lived through tough times..when just breathing was about all that you were up to.

I am hoping that all you wise people will list out ideas for supporting folks who are going through treatments or their families.  Of course, it doesn't have to be cancer treatments; however, I figure it is one of the more common scenarios that you might think of

You are part of life's dance, an alchemical transformation of us into tumours.

So here's the thing ...

So here's the thing ... Just after that fishing trip ... I went to the doctor's and he told me I have prostate cancer.  Its not early stage but on the other hand it is not late stage either.  Its right in the middle.  Just a little more than you'd want if you had your druthers.  So its all set.  I go into the hospital in the middle of December and have it taken out.

Prayers for Audrey's Mother

Those of you who were at the WonderPicnic on July 3 will have met Audrey; others may know her as well.

Her mother has had cancer, and is approaching the end of her life.  Audrey and her family would really appreciate your thoughts and prayers as they go through this trying time.

May God grant them grace, strength and courage for the difficult time now, and for the days and weeks ahead.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours, Audrey.  God bless.

a wondercafe blood drive in honour of Seeler and family

As many know, Seeler has a daughter coping with Cancer.  In fact,I would bet that most of us have extended family members who have or have had Cancer.

How to help is always a question people ask.

I would like to suggest that we do a Wondercafe Blood Drive.

Lets go give blood to help, not just Seeler's daughter but all those who use our health care system or will use it this summer.

Helping a child cope with Grandparent's illness.

My father-in-law, who lives in another province has late stage bladder cancer.  It has already spread to his lymph nodes and a few sites in his bones.  He is currently undergoing chemo, but the prognosis does not look good.  He has requested that the family do not travel to visit him until this summer (after the chemo is done), so we are respecting his wishes.

How Can I Help My Friend

I just had news from someone who is in my circle of acquaintance that her adult daughter has an inoperable cancerous tumor and won't survive.  They are moving onto chemo to make her more comfortable to give her more time with her children and husband and to prepare them for her passing.

It's such a horrifying blow for my friend.  She's on her own and I know this is going to change her forever.  She was in a hard place even before getting this news.

What can I do??

Back and Tired

I'm back.

Two weeks and a day ago I was trans-bashed. I'm fine, some facial scarring (knives not my friend) and there were no witnesses so no reporting. Turns out they figured my out NOT by the countless YouTube vids under MrChaseCameron where i beg for sponsors, to no avail, for this June's Ride to Conquer Cancer, but because I hang around with someone sort of trans and not .... discreet about it. Her name came up while we fought. I broke one's nose and the other may never have children.

No one unzips their pants and suggests what he did and doesn't suffer.
