I am a Canadian so i didn't get to vote in this past american election. I am very disappointed in the ban of same sex marriages. I believe in God and I have faith but doesn't the bible teach us to love each other and to be non judgemental. I think that as human beings we should all have the same rights. I watch the arguments from both sides on tv and it just pisses me off. For the yes people, their biggest arguement is that the word "marriage" is defined as a sacred bond between a man and a woman. Says who?! The Bible..when did the bible become the constitution?
I discoverd this site today and read through a few topics before I decided to register to make this post. I really value other peoples opinions so long as they do not try to over-ride my own opinion as well. I would like some advice from all of those moms out there.
In our baptism ritual with babies and kids, the parents are asked the following five questions:
1) Do you believe in God: Creator, Christ and Spirit?
I do, by the grace of God.
2) Trusting in God, will you turn away from things that harm, and turn toward those that heal: seeking justice and resisting evil?
Yesterday my youngest daughter, 23, graduated from Simon Fraser University - we went to her Convocation. I got cancer when she was just 11, and was told basically that I would probably only live a couple of years. Now I'm suffering from some form of debilitating arthritis and I'm on disability 1/2-time. I was getting pretty whiny about it.
