What is Spirituality?

We have examined concepts like "God," "religion, and "faith" here on the Café, but we haven't examined "spirituality," at least not recently.

So what is "spirituality" to you? Your personal definition, and/or dictionary definition, and any experiences and feelings that define spirituality for you.

Speaking of Christianity......

I received a post today - as I expect many of you did - from General Romeo Dallaire. He's trying to help Omar Khadr.

Khadre was arrested for being a child soldier (illegal arrest)

Was imprisoned as a child soldier (illegal imprisonment)

Was tortured (illegal)

Was tried - illegal to try a child soldier, - and tried in a military court (no right to hear full evidence, confessions obtained by torture are accepted).

Oscar Wilde on The Risen Christ

The Selfish Giant   This children story by Oscar Wilde is wonderful for many reasons. Those who grew up in the seventies and watch TV will remember it was played every Christmas. It the story of a Giant who learns the value of community. he is redeemed when he helps a child, smaller then all the others, and unable to climb a tree. He later discovers that the child was the risen Christ.

SERMON: LEARNING TO LOVE

The theme of today’s reading from the First Letter of John is “love one another” - a most appropriate theme for Mother’s Day, on which we celebrate the Christian family. Writer A. E. Brooke once said, “Life is a chance of learning how to love.” I know of no better place for learning to love than the home.

Dependants of Christ
Lovers of the hard Truth opposed to fanciful, smooth and conforting lies.
Dependants of Christ

Collectively Christendom is hypocritical, pathetic, and plastered with idolatry! It is the sad reality of the church. However, there still are genuine God fearing, Jesus loving, Holy Spirit driven Christians out there who care more about the Lord Jesus than themselves, wherefore they won’t let the despicable condition of the church prevent or impede them from loving and giving glory to Christ Jesus.

The Divinity of Jesus.

I'm guessing alot of people will be drawn to this thread because the title implies i'm going to argue against the divinity of Jesus.

And....I'm not.   I strongly disagree with it, and am open to discussion, because I have a lot of ammo on the subject, but I respect you all at the united church and don't want to do that.

What i'm actually here to do is ask a question.
