Protesters Were PMO Interns - A New Low

http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2013/06/25/trudeau-protest-conservative-int...

Personally, I never did believe that these so-called "protesters" were the real deal, and suspected that this was a staged travesty. Read the part about how they didn't need a permit to protest like everyone else.  Is Harper even allowed to do this? Does he think Canadians are stoooopid?

And why it hasn't it been covered by the rest of the media??? The cbc hasn't touched this story yet. Wonder if it will?

Conservative Christians on WC

Rather than derail John's thread (since he's pretty specific about what he's seeking), I'll post this thread to state my piece.

can someone please explain to me how the conservative ideology = christian ideology?

the more i hear about the conservative party here in manitoba, the more i can't understand how on earth anyone could equate these people with christianity.  specifically, i can't get over how the fillmon conservative government from 12 years ago got away with privatizing MTS, after promising in their campaign that they would not privatize it.  fillmon currently holds a plush position on the privatized MTS, the stock options he recieved after his stint as provincial premier totalling nearly a million dollars.

Faith or Ideology?

This isn't terribly "new" of course, but for me, it pretty much sums up the crux of the debate that generally divides the so-called  traditional and emerging paradigms of Christianity.

Rather than interpret our relationship with God through Scripture, Jesus shows repeatedly that we have to interpret Scripture through our relationship with God. And that we must see that relationship as extending to all.

Evangelicals?

Hi, I'm new here and I realize that this not the kind of Christian forum that I have expected (pretty critical towards the Bible and basic principles of Christianity).

So I was curious whether there are some here that tend to be more conservative leaning (evangelical or charismatic) in the United Church. as you know, they are the ones that are growing pretty fast.

I also want to know what you think about evangelicals and if you think that they fulfill their stereotypes.

When in Rome (or Dubai)

 http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/briton-faces-jail-for-sex-on-dubai-beach-863918.html

An unmarried couple get caught in a compromising position on a beach in Dubai and get arrested.  The question being: do we feel sorry for this girl and think she got a rough go of it? Or should she have been more mindful of the customs and laws in the country that she was a guest in?
