BELIEVE - AN LGBT COMMUNITY & OUTREACH GROUP AT ST. JAMES UNITED CHURCH IN MONTREAL, INVITE YOU TO ATTEND:
With the recent rash of teen suicides and the 4 gays tortured in NYC, please join us for an EXTREMELY IMPORTANT evening of discussion, on COMING OUT STORIES as led by a mother who has a gay son. We can discuss how we as a community can create change in the light of increasing violence & homophobia.
Alright, so I was reading responses in California Prop 8 69'ed and then it hit me. You still don't know what our ACTUAL agenda is all about. So, here for the first time outside the most restricted areas in top secret gay bars...
I present to you, kind people of the Wonder Cafe...
THE HOMOSEXUAL AGENDA!!!!!!!!
so there is the guy who is like... obsessed with my friend, and he was planning on asking her out at our grade nine farewell. To avoid dating him she was going to say I was dating her, because he knew she was a bisexual. but eventaully he found out that no matter how hard he tried, she wouldn't date him, so he's not even going to bother. So then I was talking to her about it, wondering if it was still okay if I asked her out, regardless of whether I'm no longer a decoy.
well, the other day I was surfing the internet, and I saw an interesting comment on a "yahoo! Answers" question. the question was asking if they were straight. they were also having gender identity issues. they said;
if I imagine being a guy, with a girl, it feels ok
but if I imagine being a guy, with a guy, I have this strange sense of "not right"ness
and if I imagine being a girl, with a girl, I get the same feeling
but if I imagine being a girl, with a guy, it feels ok
well, I think that the whole "born again heterosexual" thing is a load of bull, unless you were actually gay by choice... oh, and let me clear this argument up. There are people who choose to be gay, for past relationship problems, or wanting to try something new, or for whatever reason and then there are the people who just were born that way, and can't help it. The people who think all gay people made a choice are probably stereotyping because of one or two people.
Last week Washington DC became one of the first places to allow. One of the first places to achieve equal marriage rights without being forced to by the courts. The GLBT press is giving credit to the churches in DC in making it happen.

In November, 2009 issue of The United Church Observer, Dean Salter writes
" Our churches should make a voluntary committment to ban churchspeak community. We need to stop being lazy about the way we communicate. if it's a code word, let's get rid of it. if it obscures our messages - if itconfuses, divides or fails to move us forward in our faith - let's drop it."
My question arises from this.
Ok. So first off, I'm posting this in global issues because if I put it in social, I'm sure it would just be flooded by, well, the usual crap threads like this get.
But here's the question; does there come a responcibility with living a gay life?
