I know there must have been a post similar to this somewhere but as i'm not inclined to check through more than 10 pages for answers, i'll ask this question for my own.
I do firmly believe that there is a god, i'm just open minded about it. A question that has been popping into my mind recently is that if there is a god, and he is kind, and gentle, and great, and everything we belive him to be, why are there people who suffer so much?
I'm starting to think that "Good News" needs an upgrade - to "BetterNews".
What's BetterNews?
It would be like the Bible, with some additions and some deletions
I would add stories from other cultures, such as:
I would avoid stories in the Bible (and other sources above) that contain messages of destruction, including:
Hello everyone God bless you...........
I was praying on wondercafe and an idea has surfaced and this is what it has become...why dont we try an experiment.....lets agree to show others here on wondercafe...the way to God..(we do help, learn and grow with each other on wondercafe but this would be seperate)
I notice the tendency for people (both Christain and secular) to discuss God and science as though the two are mutually exclusive. Science, which is a product of flawed human intelligence (flawed in the sense that no human has ever been shown to be infallible), is quoted time and time again as being able to prove the non-existence of God, or at least the non-existence of the God as set out in the Biblical record.
Many people ask, "Why am I here?", "Does God exist?", "What is my purpose?", "Does God really care?" A new book called 'Nest Among The Stars', answers these questions, and many others of a similar nature, in a fast paced, interesting, 'can't-put-it-down', popular fiction style.
Hi All,
The statement has been made, "Why do we believe God of the Holy Bible is the only God."
I've launched this alternative thread for the same purpose as the Trinity discussion thread.
Here we go:
Well I don't believe that the God of the Holy Bible is the only God. Primarily because there are a number of verses which stipulate that there is one specific God that is above all Gods.
