A request to the clergy of Moncton

This is a little embarassing.

I believe that the central concept of Christianity is forgiveness. Indeed, I believe forgiveness is central to all understanding. For that reason, I have always (though long without knowing it) seen current events in a Christian context.

I have a long experience in speaking of current events on radio, television and in print - many thousands of times. Indeed, I have a number of awards for it, including one for best radio editorial of the year in Canada, and a second or third place for best newspaper column of the year in Canada - and others.

FIRST HAITI, NOW JAPAN!

Tragedy and trouble struck one day,

The earthquake wiped my whole village away.

As I stand amidst the dust and rubble

Comprehensive Leadership Survey: technical difficulties? There's an App for that

No, there isn't really an app for that; there IS a solution however!

If you have any difficulties the survey with the link you have been sent, or having any technical problems with the survey that the United Church is currently conducting on "Leadership and Healthy Relastionships", please contact:

Nicholas Borodenko at Prairie Research Associates: borodenko@pra.ca  or, by phone at 204-987-2030.

coming out

First off I don't know what I am doing now lol...but Im here now going with the flow...

I been running 14 years now - hiding from myself - building a wall from my feelings... Doing all this, but I realise I have to face what I been running from hiding from and building a wall aganst. As hard as it is, I am happy and releaved that I have the courreg to take this step! At the same time I am sad because I feel this way and I am in a wheelchair and it's hard to find that guy who will like you for you and not run away from the sight of the chair I am in.

Help dress me

So, General Council is coming.  And since it is longer than any other church meeting, I don't have enough shirts to last from the 9-15.  Plus one day on each end for travel, but those two are optional.

So far I have:

1) "God is coming.  Look busy."

2) My "Jesus Saves" goalie shirt that was my avatar

3) My darwin fish that was my first avatar here.

4) this - http://www.flickoff.org/shop/images/products/t07.jpg

So I need 3 to 5 more.

FASD AS a grand parent how can I help without medling

FASD, Back in 2007, Serena posted a thread on this subject and I went back to read what was posted. I apologize for coming back to the subject but I do appreciate your comments.

A few, perhaps even many, of the regular contributors of WonderCafé may think that I am a stiff, stubborn, rigid old man..... and you would not be too wrong but I do love my children and grand children. I am worried and disturbed by the situation that my adopted grandson, who has FASD,  is in and/or will be as he grows into adolescence.

How can we help each other in a depression?

The economic newsletter I read yesterday was full of dire predictions of falling production, no consumer confidence and global layoffs.  I remembered what it felt like to be suddenly searching for a job.

Palestine - asking the right question

We already have a very long thread on Palestine. I have often added to it, and it has probably said as much as can be said for now. But what has bothered me from almost the start is that we may have been neglecting the christian perspective in shaping our thoughts. We have talked almost exclusively about bringing peace to the region and, by connection, who is responsible for what is going on.
