Someone asked the question on another thread, along the lines of:
Is faith accepting everything everyone says, and developing your own truth?
If it's a fair question to ask, What is faith? (Not so much the content of what the faith is in, but faith in and of itself) Is it belief? Trust? Hope? What does the word 'faith' mean to you?
Have at it.
The following is my draft of my sermon for tomorrow. Felt the impulse to share it. I am not as technologically sophisticated as some others on WC so I just have to paste it in. May you find cause for joy tomorrow and through the challenges of this season. Jim
It's been a long time - again - since I blogged. LIfe often takes us on twists and turns that we least expect. That happened this year, in a big way. In July I saw a vacancy posted at Humber United in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. By mid-August I had said yes. It had to be the shortest search in the history of the church.
On November 7th, I said farewell to my congregation of five years, Glen Ayr United in Scarborough. What started as a one-year supply had stretched over five years, and many changes. It was a wonderful farewell, and a wonderful end to a good chapter.
Spirit prompted me to reflect on the nature of hope during my final offering of theological reflection at this past weekend’s national justice-making Turn! gathering in Pinawa, Manitoba.
Hey everyone, let's post some words of love. Focus on good vibrations in this place. I'll start things off with...
THen I would recomend Reframing Hope. I had a chance to read it for free in return for writing a review. I quite liked it and recommend it to others.
My review can be found here:

Has anyone watched the movie "Previous"?
I watched it last night, interested to hear what folks think
When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things. 1 Corinthians 13:11
This is one of my favourite biblical quotes. Indeed the whole passage speaks to me and defines my belief structure. I also believe that what is defined as childish by some is what is uplifted as a virtue in this passage.
I am going to take a moment to share with you a bit about this disease, the impact, and a good news story.
Here is a link to those who have never heard of it. -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trigeminal_neuralgia
