You've all probably heard the meme going around, of an "Arab Spring", in mention of all the rioting/freedom fighting/youth gnarling going on in the ME right now.

Well, I'd like to use this particular thread to use as a placeholder where we all can talk, riff, muse, put in news stories, rants, reasoned diatribes, silly, solemn, etc, that we think of aboot the concept of a Canadian Spring.

I'll start:

it is that time of year again!  Yes, that time of year where YOU get to take a look at your unconscious biases.

How do you do that?  Glad you asked.

We take the Implicit Association Tests!  Here is what I would like to do...I'll show you the results of my tests from the web page that I will be giving you shortly.  Then, you can supply yours as well.

I don't know exactly how to do this, but I'll write it and see what happens.

I had one of those moments in my life, as I was going to sleep, that I have had a few times, that break my life up into 'Before' moments and 'After' moments.  In the 'After', my world is different, because my assumptions have changed.  It is still early days yet, so I will still keep my mind open to see what is what and what isn't what.

Was it a good experience for you all?

I thought it was a bit too flashy, myself.   Too much Saw and not enough nuance, like in the original Haunting of Hill House.

Since we're all now either partying with Usama or getting down with Joan of Arc, let's take a look back at how it happened:

I would like to talk aboot games.

So, I was tooling around another thread and, thanks to my magpie mind and some poster's words, I started on another tangent.

Yes, yes, yes, no one was hurt too much and I bear the shame of it all....:3

But...

Ok, here's the schoop.

Imagine yourself as a SUPERHEROINE.  Who would you be?  You don't have to pick someone that has already been made.  What would your powers be like?  Who would your sidekicks be like?  And so forth.  Guys, you can pick one too.

Did any of you ever think of why they were made in the first place? Turns out it was so neat and innocent...too bad that beauty wasl destroyed by ignorance building upon ignorance, and we are to blame as well, the ignorant rulers, so easily manipulated.
