My message for Sunday, August 18 is posted as a blog.  While it is one of my longest sermons, due to covering a lot of ground, I hope it is readable.  I may be able to trim it a bit more before Sunday morning.  The scrpture passage is Jeremiah 23:15-32.

The Iranian plot to kill the Saudi ambassador to the US is almost certainly an American plot intended to isolate iran - or as an excuse for invading it. that is the opinion of many newspapers all over the world, including papers far superior to any in North America. Indeed, one of the papers to adopt this view is The Guardian, arguably the best newspaper in the English speaking world. Just google The Guardian Iran plot Saudi.

 I have noticed in the debate over the Catholic Church how some people are so willing to accept certain things that seem to be obviously lies.

Likewise I once had a boyfriend, who lied to me all the time. I would always believe him, and maybe because I wanted to believe that he was telling the truth.   I got seriously hurt as a result.

After watching this commercial for 501's it occured to me that often we know that these lies are lies, but that we hope to get something by believing in them.  

1.   Woman gets pregnant by lover.  Does not like lover.  So she finds a nice boyfriend, sleeps with him (when she is 2 months along).  Tells him she is pregnant.  He is so happy he marries her, doesn't let her work, does all the nightly feedings etc.  When the child he thought was his is two years old she goes back to the child's father.  He threatens to sue for custody.  She then throws in his face that the baby is not his.  A paternity test confirms this.

This makes me incredibly mad, I think because of the dishonesty even more than the changes.  BASTARDS!!  I find it really, really hard to see how anyone with any interest in caring for the world and each other is able to continue to support these disgusting, immoral, bastards.

Even since the Romans twisted the aspect of a spiritual soul and spirit into a real personification. Did passion walk the earth, scorth it ... pure illumination as awareness ... now which one was buried in the difficult depths of the soul ... has anyone found where we misplaced it?
