Trouble in River City.

My. Irving, the man who owns everything in New Brunswick including all the newspapers and the government, is determined to develop shale gas in New Brunswick. But, New Brunswickers, normally the most sheep-like people I have ever seen, are furious. Despite years of relentless propaganda and outright lying by the Irving press, there is a mass anger at what is happening.

Protesters Were PMO Interns - A New Low

http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2013/06/25/trudeau-protest-conservative-int...

Personally, I never did believe that these so-called "protesters" were the real deal, and suspected that this was a staged travesty. Read the part about how they didn't need a permit to protest like everyone else.  Is Harper even allowed to do this? Does he think Canadians are stoooopid?

And why it hasn't it been covered by the rest of the media??? The cbc hasn't touched this story yet. Wonder if it will?

Time for Occupy to declare victory (and move on)

Back in the 80’s, we eager young seminarians were required to take a class in social action: how to plan and implement a protest, how alter public opinion, and generally make change.  Good stuff like how to manipulate the media and the best way to get arrested were also on the curriculum.  The goal was to get out there and get labelled an elemento subversivo.

Is anyone Suspicious of what happened this week

Does anyone else find it curious that cities across north America and Britian all made moves to evict the protestors or their tents, during the same week. New York, Halifax, Vancouver, Toronto, and so on.

Why now? I mean I understand that in some areas people have similar views about ending it, but it seems that the police actions might have been coordinated.. I have not heard anything but it. Seems to me to be unprecedented for municipal police to coordinate their activities against protestors on an international level. Another first for occupy? Or just a coinincident?

The Luther King Memorial

President Obama has presided at the dedication of a national memorial to Martin Luther King, placing him in company with George Washington and other presidents. This is surely a dangerous development.

Reverend King, after all, was a man who led people in demonstrations against the established political and social order. He improperly used the pulpit to preach the false idea that the word of Jesus has something to do with our public lives.  He was what my friends in the riot police used to call a 'disturber".

The Illusion of Freedom in Canada

Every Remembrance Day we stand at the cenotaph and honour the men and women who fought and died overseas to keep the people of this nation free. But we are not free, not really. I submit to you now that there are strange and rather dark forces at work in Ottawa. Nevermind 911, Iraq and all of the American subterfuge, we have our own conspiracies right here in Canada.

G20 Summit - exhorbitant spending

“I figured this was the one thing that can unite all parties and the people of Canada,” said Smith, who is card carrying member of the federal Liberal Party. “This ridiculous waste of money on the G20, the fake lake and everything else.

Protest in circles! Animal cruelty and your opinion

I had an interesting experience while visiting my spouse's sister this weekend.   She is a very pro-anti person.   When I say that, I mean that she is a vegan, and openly promotes her lifestyle in a condemning fashion of others not like her.   She was just fresh out of a protest of the circus in her city where a total of 4 protesters showed up to stand outside and try to persuade people not to go in.

Protest Turns Violent

Hi All,

I don't know what kind of media coverage this is getting yet. I only know about it because it was front page on this morning's Expositor.

Members of the Six Nations have been targetting construction sites in the city of Brantford that they claim are on disputed land.
