Lent Madness

A friend of mine told me about this site the other day, and I finally got around to looking at it today.

Lent Madness: Who Will Win the Golden Halo? http://www.lentmadness.org

Basically each day, two saints are paired up. They post articles about each saint and whichever one gets the most votes moves on to the next round. It looks like quite interesting and educational.

Another Great Saint Has Left Us

The death of The Rev. Dr. Howard Brox marks a significant passing in the United Church.

Why?

Howard Brox was head of the Division of Mission in Canada for many years in the 1980's and is one of the last leaders from the Evangelical United Brethern tradition. Howard Brox was instrumental in the United Church/EUB union.

Brother Andre made a Saint

I found the news this week out of the Vatican strange.

I understand that Roman Catholics in and around Montreal felt that Brother Andre was a special healer.  I have been to the oratory and seen the devotion to him.

But I am really puzzled by the Vatican actions to make him a Saint.  They "investigated" two miraculous healings that occurred after his death when people prayed to him.???

Exactly how would that investigation go?
