Fantastic ad for the United Church

I'll link to it rather than imbedding it.  He says such great things about us, this ad makes me very proud to be UCC.

My First Blog

How ought we be together as Christians?  How should we relate to each other?

I think we mostly all know the answers, though we drop the ball on living it out.  Not to go all Bible-quote-dropping, but I really like Jesus' formula:  If someone upsets you, go talk to them first in private. If you can't work it out, bring a friend or two.  If you still can't sort it out, bring Church elders.  After all that is done, then you can call them up for public discipline. (Matt  18:15-17)

JGER is on Facebook!

News news!  JGER has unveiled its swanky new facebook page - United Action for Justice.  I highly recommend checking it regularly for dialogue and news on international and justice subjects, all hot off the desks of the United Church.

Do you know about what the United Church is doing abroad?

Just over a week ago, I started a job at the United Church head office, in the JGER unit.  That's the Justice, Global and Ecumenical Relations unit, for the uninitiated.  And I was blown away at the breadth and depth of what goes on here.

The JGER Unit - Things I've Learned, and Why I Love My Job

This past Monday, I had my first day at UCC Head Office.  I was offered a job in the JGER - Justice, Global and Ecumenical Relations - unit.  My head is still spinning, but I know I can say something I've never said before:  I love my job.

I was thrown into things straight off the starting block - conference calls, staff meetings, M&S awareness week, etc.  I don't think I've had much time to process everything yet!  But I have learned a handful of things.  Here they are:

Study Group Idea

LAst winter the group that was working through Revelation kept asking me a question,  "What does the United Church believe about...?

WE have some people who whave expressed an interest in confirmation classes.

And so I have come to a conclusion that combines both things.

Starting in January I am going to offer a study group that will double as confirmation/re-affirmation of faith class for those who are interested. The group is called What does the United Church believe about...
and possible topic areas include:

UCC political party or church

 Hi!

I follow the General Concil from home. It's look more like a political party than a church.

So UCC want to change is name and NDP didn't boycott Israel?
