With Israel's deliberate and public ihumiliation of Ofama and Biden, by announcing they were stepping up the building of illegal settlements and thus destroying any peace talks, We have surely come to the end of a road.
Even an ass-kisser like Harper has said he regrets the Israeli move.
I remember a football coach who would gather the team together to pray for victory before a game. One day, overexcited, we ran onto the field, forgetting the prayer. So the coach stormed out, and hauled us back for the prayer.
Now, I'm not big on prayer anyway. But this seemed a trivial use of a purpose for which Jesus died.
I thought of that today as I walked by a church with a big sign. Pray for our troops and our brave allies.
What do you think of that?
as I read reports of the attempt aitline bombing on Christmas day, it has been intriguing to read that the attack was planned in Yemen, and attacker was Nigerian. The conclusion was obvious. The attack was them there terrorists again, who attack innocent people because thateswhat terrorists do. There was no reason for it, except the villainy of Islam.
Has it not become clear to everyone that we are not fighting for democracy or freedom?
Most of the discussion about Israel and Palestine has been nothing more than fuss and bluster. That's because most people who post have little knowledge of the nature of war, and so become suckers for the propaganda of both sides. We get windy statements about international law when, in fact, there is almost no effective international law dealing with this. We get tales of how the "other side" hides behind civilians when, in fact, all urban fighting leads to high civilian casualities, and always has done so.
I found myself in strong disagreement with others on radio this morning - a disagreement that went beyond simply disagreeing to seeing the question itself in different ways.
The topic was the tightening of border and flight safety, coupled with the US director of homeland security's assertion that the 9/11 attackers came in through Canada.
I don't think her statement was due to ignorance. I don't think airline and border safety have anything to do with the tightening measures. I think the reality is much scarier - and it's not new.
I heard this prayer this morning at church, as part of the sermon, and loved it. Thought it would be interest to some of you here. I've copied the text from http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1052871.html - an English language Israeli newspaper.
