Okay, so a manager in one of our locations just addressed me as "darling" in an email. Not sure if that's an appropriate way to address a work colleague. Certainly not one I'd use. My "darling", if I use the word at all, is my boss at home, not anyone at work .
Would you address a colleague (other than one that you're in a personal relationship with) as "darling" or "dear" or any of those terms?
So here's the thing ... Just after that fishing trip ... I went to the doctor's and he told me I have prostate cancer. Its not early stage but on the other hand it is not late stage either. Its right in the middle. Just a little more than you'd want if you had your druthers. So its all set. I go into the hospital in the middle of December and have it taken out.
The General Council is seeking members for a variety of committees. We invite you to put forward your own expression of interest, or to encourage others who may be called to this work.

As for us, we didn't go to church this morning. We were working instead. The cafeteria I work in has just been renovated, and the grand reopening is tomorrow. Everyone was called in for an extra work day to make sure everything is right. They hired my Yobo as an extra worker for the day. Somehow, without church, this just doesn't feel like Sunday to me.
I'll be upfront about this -- I am writing through the use of a sockpuppet. Because my other identity is fairly well known, I am using a different identity so as to protect a friend. I came to ask if any of you have dealt with workplace bullying and ask for suggestions for this person.
I'm feeling really super lucky tonight...some would say blessed.
Our congregation is rebuilding...from a time of deep dark interim.. it was needed..but wow, it got us into a place.
Anyhow, just had a CD meeting tonight.. CD = Christian development, which covers church school, vacation bible school, adult programming, youth groups, and resource materials
As I was talkign to folks last night at a meeting, I began to think about the # of hours that I put in to volunteer at the church or through church events.
I wonder if folks have taken the time to add yours up, what would it look like
Where do you volunteer?
I can think of the following categories
1. Church
1.1 Congregation/Pastoral Charge
1.1.1 Inwards facing
1.1.1.1 Courts
1.1.1.2 Worship, etc

Yes that is right she started yeaterday cashing at our local Canadian Tire Store. We went in to drop something off to her and the person who was working with her said that she was wonderful and a really quick learner. Yeah!!!! I am sure this will relieve some of the pressure on our family.
I'm curious what people are experiencing in terms of the shifts.
Some of you may have seen a real decrease in your mutual funds.
I know that I did not get a raise this year, with the economy having been cited.
I also know that stock options, that I generally trade in at this time of year, I won't be...as stock is so low..not worth trading in...
so...what is impacting you or your family or immediate friends?
