Hello all:
I have just watched the CBC documentary called The Downside of High. It was put together by David Suzuki and has raised an important issue concerning marijuana, developing teen brains, "high octane" pot, and schizophrenia and other psychoses.
I feel young when i get a speeding ticket, young in that terrible sense of being unworthy of this world.
I can't remember being young as a child,I guess because I had nothing to compare it to I think I began to feel young at 14 when I was promoted to patrol leader in my scout troop. Scouts have all ages from the young to the elderly at the leadership level. At 14, I at last had a comparison. I was older than some, and younger than some, but still young on the balance.
Hey Folks,
I am wondering what people think about role models, and what , as adults, we are responsible for in public places.
What do you think?
When you are driving?
When you are at home?
When you are on-line (facebook, gaming, twitter, wondercafe)
When you are out & about
thoughts/
see video below.
I was intrigued by something a friend of mine wrote to the new Moderator:
"The youth aren't the future of the church.
We are the present."
What are the implications this holds for the church?
Phil starts in. “A lot of Christians,” he says, leaning on the side of the dumpster, “think that hope is in church, or in ritual, or in prayer or pious behavior. But most of ‘em believe that ultimately, hope is in heaven. They are just waiting for their tickets out of this madhouse so they can take it easy in the sweet bye and bye.” He pauses, and I shiver, nodding dumbly.
