apparently there is a phone scam going around
where you'll get a phone call saying that they're from Microsoft Technical Support and they have detected a problem with your computer and they want to help you
here are some instances of people who have played along
one of them straight
Here's what happened to the guy's computer
here's a guy who trolls them; i'm amazed at how long he's able to do this

and yes, the Nigerian scam is still going strong
(here's an interesting hypothesis as to why these ridiculous scams still are going on)

These guys are annoying. I blew them off twice in the same week a few weeks back. I just don't have the time or patience to troll them properly. I have warned everyone that I can warn about them.

We saw that last year. It was a hoot.
The LDS church had lots of ad pages in the programme. I was impressed by their chutzpah.
