While my immediate reaction is to laugh, the situations involved are really rather tragic. The Toronto election is going on right now. Not sure just who I'm going to vote for, but I want what's best for the city in which I live. I do not believe that Toronto has been served well this term.

Agreed...... its not funny. The late night shows in the U.S. always need new material or new buffoons , hence Ford's popularity.
A lot of the city hall salaries listed as over $100,000. were in the Star. I didn't realize they were so well paid. I'll google.
I'm pretty sure Ford won't get in again.

stardust,
if Ford were coming over to your place for din/lunch, what would you serve him?

My own feeling, stardust, is that Mr. Ford may well be reelected. I feel that in the end it's going to come down to a two-way race, with Ms. Chow taking the old city of Toronto, but Mr. Ford getting enough support from the suburbs again to put him in for another term.

He says he's on a diet so I would have to serve him liquid refreshments....ahem... something to smoke for dessert if I'm really hospitable. I can smell a whiff or two when I'm on my balcony.
I think the Rob Ford type of person is more common than we care to admit. I can tolerate him but I don't want him as our mayor again next year. I would be kind to him if he came for lunch.

I know Olivia will be well supported by the Chinese community but I doubt there's enough of them to make her a winner. I haven't paid much attention to all of the candidates yet. Ford may be charged...??... before the next election. I'm not sure what's in the wind with all of the problems he's caused. He's still often front page news in the Toronto Star and it doesn't look very favorable on his behalf.
