In terms of sexual orientation, they are perhaps the least-understood, most-forgotten people group. Neither straight nor included in the pride of the LGBT community.

Yet they are beautiful people who love and who need love just like everybody else does.

Behold the beauty of the asexual...

I need to add in - when I speak of love here I am not necessarily speaking of romantic love as some asexuals, the aromantics, have no desire or need for that.

Thanks Dcn. Jae.

I listened to a show on CBC regarding this topic the other day.  It seems to be hitting the media spotlight, which is a good thing

I have always considered that sexuality is not binary but rather fluid and that it can shift throughout your life.

I've known a few of them online and it's a tough position to be in for many. Society expects people to be sexual, whether hetero, homo, or bi, and no one in any of the usual groups seems to know how to handle someone who literally is not sexual.

I assume this is what Pinga is referring to:

And here is an older piece from Q:

yuppers,

i've known of at least one

this guy didn't even like to be touched

and its completely understandable by me why people y'd think should be loving of these aren't -- its the old 'in-group' 'out-group' behaviour

the same wonderful hormone, Oxytocin, that helps us love & bond with our in-group also has a dark side, that of hating, lying to, the 'out-group'.  so its not just a matter of social engineering society to 'can't we all just get along' by sheer willpower...this could be the 'satan' that Christianity metaphorizes aboot...

we see examples of it on WC all the time

no one is safe *mua ha ha*
