Our personal closets and how to handle them

Our personal closets......

I have never done this here and I ask your indulgence as I share a video link.

Please consider having a look......

This one really spoke to me in a very profound way.....

http://www.upworthy.com/a-4-year-old-girl-asked-a-lesbian-if-shes-a-boy-she-responded-the-awesomest-way-possible

Although this is from the viewpoint and experience of a gay person it quickly becomes very personal for each person.

For me the deep discussion that we all have closets and how this person views them is profound.   The sharing on how to respond to the awkward moments seems so very Christ like to me in a very unchurchy way....

I would be very interested in your thoughts and I will post more once I have chewed on it for a while longer....

In advance ,.,.,,, thank you for your thoughts....

Sincerely

Rita

One of my friends is transgendered. At Holloween while giving out candy she was asked if she was in costume. A thoughtful discussion with parent and child followed.

the hardest day for me Tabitha .... yes indeed...

A day I have to be very careful to be gentle and not take offence....

Could you share a bit about how the conversation went?

Seems applicable to this thread.

Thanks

Rita

WonderCafe has helped me come out of my many closets thanks to the perceived anonymity.  Many things I have never told anyone else but WC knows all about.  I definitely will not be this social on FB's WC.

I watched the video a few days ago and liked the speaker's response to the four year old's honest question.  I loved the little girl's reaction as well :)

Sorry Rita that's all the info I have on it.

I think from the tone that the conversation was positive. No one ran away shreiking or saying that she was going to hell. It was a thoughtful exchange-in the small town that she lives-so she's likely to see these folk at the one small grocery/liquor/post office store.
