Wondercafe is a busy place. Kind of like a Union Station....a hub of activity with people coming and going all the time. I'm a people watcher and love to sit in a place like a train station marvelling at all the different types of people that I see and imagining what their lives are like.
Wondercafe offers us even more. Here we get to see and meet all kinds of people but even better yet we are offered glimpses into their lives. They share life's joys, questions, celebrations, disappointments, worries, ambitions, concerrns and even share in their time of loneliness and grief. And in this place, where people are busy, and people are coming and going, we do what few people do in the real world. We stop and listen. We reach out. And hopefully we help one another.
In some corners of the room people it may get noisy as people banter back and forth. In other corners of the room it is much quieter, as people not only listen, but they reflect and carefully choose their responses to the person in crisis. In some areas of the room we ponder life's big questions. Other areas of the room are silly and often resemble a party of one type or another. So many people, so many different lives, all carrying different things in their suitcases, and THIS UNION station offers room for all.
In another thread posters were remembering that there are many here missing loved ones this Christmas. While many celebrate Christmas with decorations, parties, shopping trips and anticipation of a full house....others are wondering what this Christmas will mean with an empty chair. Some are looking towards Christmas wondering where they will be, who they will be with or who they might be without. Some who visit here don't believe in Christma. So how do you decorate the Union Station?
I am opening the doors wide in this thread. The room is big, the room is inviting, the room is warm.....there is room for all. Enter in and bring with you whatever you like....you may add decorations to fill the space, you may offer food to nourish others, you may bring only yourself and tell us how you're doing. You are welcome here. I'll be happy to see you and sit for a while. Please continue to welcome others as they enter in and if I'm not in sight, please tend to their needs. This is a busy union station of people coming and going. Let's make sure that everyone is recognized and that their needs are met. If they are happy, let's share in their joy. If they are sad, let's offer them an ear, a hug and a caring heart. If they are lost, let's offer them hope that they'll find their way and perhaps some guidance. If they are hungry, let's feed them.
There is room for all.

Sorry, this will be my last post. It's just been very stressful as nothing went as planned other than the actual dentist part itself. As it was I showed up 30 min earlier than recommended, good thing otherwise I dunno if I would have gotten to the dentist on time!
I have to take 9 pills a day! That makes it seem more important than if it were just one a day. 4.5g vs the tiny amount I'll get in the mouthwash.
I feel better just having them at home with me though. I was starting to worry about if I would even have them in time for my first dose.
I'll be checking in with the dental office tomorrow. Make sure this is on file in case of an emergency or something, I assume she could prescribe it too.

Now Crazyheart, don't you overdo it. Everyone catn pitch in and move stuff.
Folks that aren't over there yet, can pack up stuff nicely, some memories going into memory boxes,
When a corner is done, someone can ensure the room is cleaned here, as well.
Wouldn't want to leave it too dusty.
Carolla, the bruising is better. Knee is improving steadily.

Thanks! I'm doing well and so far haven't noticed any swelling besides a tiny bit right after that occurs to everyone.
I had a nice long sleep last night, still a bit tired though. The stress can take a bit of a toll I find (after dealing with everything I was worried I would have a sore throat BEFORE making it to the dentist) and it's also fairly chilly after a pretty warm weekend.
I think I'm just going to hang out at home, watch some orange is the new black, take a nap, maybe a nice soak in the tub while remembering to take one form of my med 4x/day and the other 3x/day which is a bit weird I think but doable.
I have a wide assortment of tea, perfect for the chilly wet weather. I'll make sure to pack it up when most people have moved over :)

I don't post on this thread but am a reader. Check in fairly often to see how everyone is doing.
Your stories are interesting and run the gamut from very happy to people facing enormous challenges.
I hope your problems sort themselves out, chemgal, as it has been a long and tiring journey to good health for you.
I am really glad this thread is moving over to WC2. Maybe I'll visit there more often
....but as well all know life can get busy.
Checked in to new site this morning for a look around. Really looks great. The admins have done a wonderful job.
Take care all.

Nice to see you, gecko. I am mostly a reader in the Room too, but occasionally pipe up when I have something going on or want to offer a prayer for someone in need.
Today I am thankful for the sunny weather that we have been having. It is expected to turn to rain later today and to stay wet for much of the week. I don't mind the rain (except that it means I get out to walk less often), and often have to remind myself that all kinds of weather are good in some way. In these parts, it's usually the WIND that I have trouble remembering is good -- good for changing the weather, good for seeding wildflowers, good for generating power through turbines.

I'm back, preparing to lead worship this morning. Exhausted and trying to catch up. I will look into WC2 within the next couple of days and tell about the wonderful, spirit-filled, friendly, challanging time I had at the seminar.

Good morning seeler, good morning all!
Glad you are back home safely seeler - looking forward to your report. Thinking of you as you lead worship this morning. I hope you get a chance to rest this afternoon and catch up on some energy.
It is a dreary, grey morning here. It is supposed to rain today, but it hasn't started yet. I guess we can use the rain.
Getting ready to head off to town and church and time with family this afternoon.
Hope, Peace, Joy, Love . . .

Busymom enters Room for all, mop and bucket in tow. She *sighs*....sadness, gratitude, awe....a mix of emotions. The place is quiet. Most roomies have moved on to the new space, and taken the essentials with them. Ahhh this has been a good place.
As Busymom mops the floor an old tune pops into her head and she starts humming....
I'm so glad we've had this time together,
Just to have a laugh or sing a song
Seems we just get started
and before you know it
Comes the time we have to say
So long!
