Jumping Ship?

Not quite. Let's just say that I am betwixt and between, but I am finding that things are very attractive on the other side of the fence.

Ummmmm... if you're on a ship.... and you're jumping over a fence.... where will you end up?  Hope you're wearing a PFD.

Earlier today, I was jumping back and forth to WonderCafe2 or WonderShip2 but now I have to stay on this old ship because I have lost my password to the new ship.  I Hope that the new password that I have asked WonderCafe2 for arrives in time.  In the mean time I am wondering about my baggage.

You're trying to gain access to a forum that isn't technically open to all yet, so you get an error, but you are on the site. Pre-registered people are now in. If you didn't pre-register your username, it will be open for unregistered (guest) access and web registration soon.

Do you want to pre-register as Saul_now_Paul or Jesus?

Even your God thinks you're being an idiot.

WC2Admin is a shared Super Admin account. If anyone is logged into that, it's probably me. I don't use it unless I have to because using that account, you have access to promote any user to admin, which is about the only thing a regular admin can't do. I last used it on May 27th. I don't know when I'd use it again. Pinga, Mendalla and I have the password for it. Every XenForo account has a super admin account, and they recommend you not use it for your everyday account. That's three admins (people), four accounts.

Russ is the style contractor who made WC2 look like it does. We don't have that capability. His account has full control over the style of the site, but the password is changed right now, and he doesn't have the new one. When we need him again, we'll reactivate his password. Russ has no say on any other workings of the site, nor does he want any say. He's a contractor.

So, there's your five admin accounts. Stop being an idiot for sport.

Ok - so five minus the one super-account still gives four Admins. Now - you all can run your site however you all want to. Nothing I can do about that. You all should - however - in the name of being honest and ethical - come clean with the community. Someone on the Church forum here noted that the votes really counted for nothing. It seems they were right. You could have explained to all of us that there would be four Admins (pinga - chansen - Mendalla - Russ). You chose not to do that. It begs the question - what other little secrets might you all be hiding.

We talked about the stylist working on the site. He had to have an account. That's pretty much a given, unless you're suggesting he use one of our accounts, or the super admin account, which has more rights to user information?

https://www.google.ca/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-...

Is that what you prefer? Giving the contractor more access than he needs? I'll delete his account and give him the super admin password if you want, which will let him have your email address. Just give the word.

If it was "hidden" as you allege it is doubtful that it would have been revealed so candidly.

It has been explained that one account is shared between Pinga, Chansen and Mendalla.  It has also been explained that one account is held by Russ who is a hired gun design wise and that his account is limited.

Russ is not part of the council.

You can either choose to believe that or not.  I'm guessing you will choose not to because that is more congruent with your repeated expressions of suspicion and your general attitude of distrust to the council in whole or in part.

If you truly do not trust the Council, if you are going to spend your whole time at WC2 looking for a conspiracy directed against yourself or others then I can't imagine that being a part of WC2 is in your best interest or even remotely conducive to your emotional well-being.

Grace and peace to you.

In that case - the WC2 Admins should have been open and honest with the community from the get-go. No mention was made that there would be another person with an Admin account. At this point they ought to admit the mistake that they made of not having notified us all of this. Now - I am willing to believe what the Admins are currently saying that Russ is but a designer and - as I have already said - those who own the WC2 site can really do whatever they want with their site. How were we dishonest? No one ever said that no one other than admins would have admin rights. And there was not a Council or other mechanisms in place at the time. Russ was done his work and gone long before anyone other than the three of us was on WC2 and before any of the documents were voted on. There was no need to say anything because he was no longer a factor by the time we had a Council. He shows up in the financials as a supplier and that is where he should show up.

Chansen has linked to the conversation where a stylist was assisting.

chansen wrote:

For the sake of repitition this is one of the threads chansen references:

Chansen's quote was lifted from a post which is time stamped.  Look for Chansen's post on 05/05/2014 at 10:57.

On the other thread that Chansen references above he says:

And the post of Chansen's that I just quoted is:  04/15/2014 at 16:20

Dcn.Jae wrote:

Technically true.  What kind of account did you expect him to have while doing the work that he was doing?  An admin account allows the stylist to certain bells and whistles which control the way WC2 looks and performs.

It does not make the stylist an Administrator in the way that we have defined the term for WC2.

It has been no secret that we have had somebody other than Pinga, Mendalla or Chansen doing some of this work and all of us have been informed about it as early as mid April.

Any of us forgetting about it is not the same as anyone hiding it.

Dcn.Jae wrote:

True they did not give every detail.  They did not fail to notify us of another individual working on the site and again, what kind of account would you expect someone doing that kind of work to have?

And account that is equal to the one you have now?  That would allow anybody on WC2 to change the site's functionality on a whim.

You all didn't lie to us - but you were less than honest. You had us vote on accepting - or not - the proposal of having but three WC2 Admins. By doing that - you implied that three and only three people would be involved in having Admin accounts. In what now appears to be fact - however - there are actually four people with Admin accounts. How many people have moderator accounts - is it really just five? What guarantee do we have - if any - that Russ can't and won't operate on the WC2 forums as an Admin?
