Is anyone else having issues with this website today? Everything is normal when I go to the topics page, but when I go to open a thread, the layout is completely different (and very basic). The background is completely white, everything is off to the left, and things that are normally on the right, the list of keywords for example, are on the bottom.

So it's not me?
Now that I know that Somegal's having problems I can stop blaming myself for hitting some mysterious key.
(That gal is THE authority when it comes to embedding u-tube videos on Wondercafe!)
Sighs,
Naaa - not chansen.
Much to premature - he would have chosen Christmas Day, for sure! (oops - will have to write "wink").

No, it's not you Pilgrim's Progress. They did some updates the other day. Maybe a patch broke something (sighs as he thinks of all the times a simple, "harmless" patch broke his systems).

Clearly it's the Wondercafe Concert Occupy Group. If they had not absconded with my shipment of fine wines, this would not have happened.

I'll agree with Maestro (because I'm afraid to disagree with The Maestro) but my pet hypothesis is that the Rule of Religion... thread is overheating the servers.

Hi Folks,
Yes, I'm having trouble too. Can you please let us know what browser you are using when you get the stripped down version of WonderCafe?
We did some security updates the other day and that may still be causing some problems.
Thanks,
Aaron

I'm using Safari and am having the problem. I checked with firefox, before signing it it looked ok, then once I signed it I also had the problem there.

Aaron,
I am using Firefox 8.0
This 'weird stuff' just started happening this afternoon, UTC 2000; the last time I was on WC before then was last night (up till UTC 1100) and WC wasn't acting up.
When I click on the 'Discussion' link, however, I get the normal WC page.
But if I select anything else, I get this nifty 'old school' effect that we probably are all yakking aboot, here :3
EDIT: in addtion to the normal WC format I get when click on the 'Discussion' link, the following links also result in the same effect:
Church Search, Groups, Merchandise, About, Member List, Learn More, Paint your Faith, Spirit Express, Friends, Photos, Videos

Posted on: 12/15/2011 20:21
Thanks. "Old school" isn't quite the look we're going for here! Yikes. Yes, I'm having the same problems on Firefox and Chrome.
We are looking into it. Sorry folks. Hope everything is right soon!
Peace,
Aaron for WonderCafe

Hi Aaron,
I've tried on both IE and Firefox and when I'm signed in I get the old school on both.
Oddly, I came on WC through IE which doesn't have my log in saved and everything showed up fine (threads and all) BUT when I signed in to comment on this thread, it turned old school.
BethanyK
Posted on: 12/15/2011 21:36
So I doubled checked to make sure it wasn't a one time thing...
When I am logged out and viewing WC without being "me" I can see everything normally. When I log in and click on a discussion topic, I get everything "old school".

The thread opens fine if I am not logged in, I have just noticed. But once I log on, the big white space and so on happens.

lol....yes, memories of minor changes which should not cause any impact which shut down a system. (The one that I did was a minor change going into production the night that I left for Florida....yes...i was young & full of stars in my eyes of perfect migrations...that was before the days of cell phones and i ended up walking an operator through the backout steps from a payphone somewhere around Georgia...) Ever since then I have been an advocate of ensuring that no one puts code in unless they will be around to support it, no matter who is asking for it and says it will be ok and they tested it thoroughly!)
good luck wondercafe techs.

I am so glad to hear that I am not the only one with the issue! Basically, I'm glad to hear that I'm not going crazy!!! I am using Internet Explorer.

Somegal,
I'm not even going to attempt to quote - I might send a rocket off to Mars by mistake!
Suffice to say - you are MY computer authority.
I will now be able to sleep tonight knowing that you use Internet Explorer as well.......
Are you still there, Aaron? Or have you decided that this would be an excellent time to go on holidays? (smirk!)

Thanks for hanging in there folks. It looks like the problem may have been solved, at least temporarily. But there's some more work to be done, so there may be some small interruptions in service. Hopefully not too distruptive! Thanks again.

You may be pleased with the progress however my shipment of fine wines has still not been received in my dressing room. Please attend to this far more pressing service disruption immediately.

Thanks, Aaron. A friend gave me a nice bottle of wine today - Australian Chardonnay.
Was thinking I might have to drink it to calm my nerves if Wondercafe continued to be bothered by gremlins.

Mine is back to normal now - just before I had a fit of rage at whoever took it into his head to 'improve' our beloved Cafe. I have a hard time adjusting to change. It takes me a long time to catch on to anything to do with computers. Please don't ever change a thing. It's fine now. Let's keep it this way.

Hi Aaron
I still have a bit of a problem. I can't c/p or post links. I can't see the O.K. button etc. at the bottom, and notice no pic., some writing...lol. I'm posting on politics - First United Sidebar- Geofee - so you can see what I mean. I'm Firefox and Exp.6, sort of a mix-up I think.
Thanks

Thanks folks. It looks like our tech team has gotten things more or less back to normal. Please let us know if you are still experiencing problems.
@Stardust, I'm not seeing what you describe. Is it still a problem for you?
@Seeler, unfortunately we have to do these updates to maintain the security of the site, and there is usually some fall out because not all the parts of WonderCafe will always work with the new updates. Unfortunately, it's a fact of life with these websites!
@All - wine delivery?? Hmmm...
Thanks!

I didn't try to c/p again this week...but ...do you see my profile pic.?
I don't see it. I see some writing saying "stardust's picture". Other people's
avatar pics. show up on WC, not mine. Maybe its just my silly puter ....!
Not that it
matters except it may be related re c/p problems.

copy/paste test: I tried to c/p my reply from above.
No luck. I can paste it but I can't see the "O.K." button at the bottom of the post to finish it.
I can't scroll down to it. I tried different formats, plain text etc.
Weird.....

Memo: to WC admin aka Aaron
Although I was originally having difficulties with my login, I called my assistant in London, who contacted my agent in Madrid, who contacted my rep at Firefox and my cache was cleared and I now have access.
Now I did receive a delivery of wine however it clearly was not the vintage required by my rider...and I also received a blue M & M in with my red ones. Please return this shipment and send a new one immediately.
Sincerely,
The Maestro

I got the dawg!
I'm trying c/p again....I cleared cookies etc. again.
No luck! I can't see "O.K.". I can't move the paste box down by an arrow
to finish or end the c/p quote by clicking O.K. as it says to do. Perhaps my print is too big.
Maybe it will fix itself one day.....!
