Redhead, I had no idea that cancer had been a companion on your journey - sorry to hear it's making its presence known again.  I'd been worried by your absence from the cafe in recent times, and missing your adventuresome tales - but now I understand.  I really hate that damn disease.

I'm in the GTA - so if you DO need a real hug or a back-rub, or a friend to giggle with or rage with one afternoon - please do let me know!   Funny how, even though we've never met in person, I feel like there is such a personal bond ... Will keep you in my prayers.  C.

It isn't the caring part of the gruop...it is the fact that the group is needed.

Words seem so inadequate right now.  I'd like to say shit but it's so out of character for me...oops, I guess I said it, didn't I.  OK....shit!

I read an email from Ninjafaery during my break today at work.  On the way home I was thinking about Redhead and couldn't get over how sad I was feeling.  And a little ticked.....the old "bad things happening to good people" kept creeping into my mind.  I considered how strange that Redhead and I have never "met" in person, yet through phone calls, wondermails and discussions on wondercafe I feel very close to her.

Redhead, I don't know what to offer you.  I wish I could think of just the right thing to say, the right thing to offer, the right thing to do.  I feel fairly helpless at this moment. 

Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Shit does sound approprate. All my prayers  are with you through this trying time. We are all here to help you carry the load in whatever way we can.Friends do what friends can.

I was hoping to extend an invitation to come on over and sit on my porch once the snow disasppeared - the offer will always stand, just say the word and I'll come pick you up - or better yet a bunch of you southerners could bundle Red up and bring her here!

In the meantime, I could regale you with the tale of the recent porcupine encounter and how I discovered that heavily medicated my blond dog is like a normal dog!  But only if you have a doctor's note that laughing really really hard is OK.

I am terribly sorry to hear of this turn of events.

I'm afraid I never really know what to say upon hearing such news.

"Shit!"  Always seems to be the first word that comes to mind.  As far as words go it is neither terribly pastorally advantageous or therapeutic.  It just seems to encapsulate.

Still, right at the moment, "Shit!" is about all I have but none of this is about me.

What words come to your mind?
