Latest update on meeting at More Franchises conference

Here's the latest (and a summary of arrangements so far) for an event that's coming up fast:

Room 108 in Emmanuel College has been booked for us over lunchtime for each of Sat - Mon (June 19-21).  Lunchtime is12:30 - 2pm.  (To reach the room from front entrance of Emmanuel, go to the first corridor intersection and turn left. It's at the end of the hall.)  If you have an instrument that needs to be stored while you are at the daily workshops, it is suggested that you use the luggage room at the registration desk.  The room where we play should have a piano and a data projector. I will be bringing both a netbook computer (PC) so if anyone has lyrics that need to be projected, that can be done (if you do, the easiest format to get them displayed is to make powerpoint slides - ppt or pptx -  and put them on a USB memory key to transfer to the computer). (My computer has music transposition software and I also hope to bring a portable printer so if anyone wants to print out a different arrangement, that can also be done).

Please bring along any songs/music you would like to try out or work on. I will be bringing copies of my own stuff, and I hope others will bring their stuff too. It would probably also be useful to bring a music stand.  Finally, I would suggest that if you have one, bring a copy of More Voices. It's always a challenge knowing where to start, and this provides us with contemporary songs that many of us will likely be familiar with to get us going (or just to experiment with different ways of playing music like this). Our emphasis will be on playing music - after all, we're musicians.  Amateurs are welcomed. After all, we should be able to take whatever we do back to our home churches - and there are a lot of musicians there that aren't professionals!

Looking forward to an exciting musical encounter!
