When I examined the lectionary readings for Epiphany, the theme that popped into my head for this coming Sunday is Truth's Children. I have posted my preliminary draft of my message for Sunday in the blogs, and would appreciate any feedback anyone wishes to offer.

It's in reaction to one of the (many) cuts in the omnibus budget bill (getting passed tomorrow, is it?) that basically takes away refugee healthcare coverage for preventative diagnostics, etc. Ultimately it boils their coverage down to travel-insurance-like needs, where only emergency situations are covered.

The (new) United Church Benefits Centre is set to open July 4th! The transition is almost complete, and now the postal stoppage is almost over the information packages for all members (ministry and lay personnel of the United Church, and affiliated organizations) and treasurers should be arriving by next week.
Please note that the General Council Office is closed from December 24 until January 3. Work will continue first thing Tuesday, January 4!
