Over the past 12 hours I have been in phone and e-mail conversations with Del Sexsmith, the President of the Conference of Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario; Faye Ford, the President of Saskatchewan Conference; and Craig Miller, who serves Oak Lake Pastoral Charge in Manitoba.
I am learning a great deal about the multiple layers of crisis people are facing in the areas affected by the flooding—flooding unlike anything seen there for over 300 years.
The United Church has launched an appeal for Pakistan and posted a video on www.youtube.com/unitedchurchof canada about it deals with emergencies. Also check out the ACTAlliance site for up to date pictures from the region. www actalliance.org.

The Haiti earthquake was real. The Tsusnami was real. We all saw it. Was Noah's flood real or is it another Old Testiment story to relate a truth?
The water keeps rising and Fargo is under evacuation alert. Is there anyone from Manitoba who can give us a hint of what is happening there. How badly will Southern Manitoba be affected?
