NDP wins historic 4th term in manitoba election

sorry this is a week late, but hey.  busy weekend, what can i say!!

yep, the manitoba NDP have done what no other party here has done before and won a fourth term in power.

when the writ dropped, it looked like it was going to be a tough battle, with the PC's getting the upper hand.  but they collapsed like a flan in a cupboard, and the NDP swept the province.

Nycole Turmel: is the popular raction over the top?

So the interim leader of the NDP held a membership in the BQ. So?

Don't we try to convince people opposed to us to come over to our side? It seems to me the winning over of a member of a separatist party should be a cause for celebration. Or is it a rule that nobody who ever belonged to a separatist party is ever again permitted to have a role in Canadian politics? Don't MPs of all parties cross the floor on occasion? Wasn't Churchill originally elected as a Liberal?

Parti Quebecois falling apart?

Well is anyone else following the recent developments in Quebec politics.

Before the federal election the PQ were well ahead in the polls and poised to win the next provincial election.

However unknown to most the people of Quebec were not only unhappy with the Charest liberals, but the PQ the bloc, and the federal liberals and the Tories.

Thus we see the NdP sweeping Quebec. Today two more PQ members have left thhe particular. however this time one has also abandoned them for being too separatist.

The polls are stunning

I can scarcely believe the poll results I'm seeing. In all seriousness, I had given up hope for Canada. It was obvious that Harper was a blind ideologue, and thoroughly anti-democracy. This isn't wild, political name calling. He has many times demonstrated his loathing for democracy. And he is owned by  corporate money even more than John A. Macdonald was.
