This may seem unusual but I'm hoping you can help me.
Hi Folks,
Tell us about the happy supportive relationships you are in. Tell us about the folks that matter to you and you to them!
Tell us about getting it right!
In addition to the thread in Health and Aging where people are leaving comments regarding the tragic loss of musicalmackenzie and the thread in Religion ‘My Heart is Heavy’, I thought it might be helpful to have a space to process, to share, to support with regards to the impact such a loss has on our wondercafe community and/or in our personal lives.
There have been a number of threads started already about the H1N1 virus, whether to immunize, is it a conspiracy.......
This is not a thread to argue, but rather to support one another about concerns regarding H1N1.
Specialmom has shared on another thread her worries about specialson.
Chemgal has shared her concerns about her health.
Pommum has shared her concerns about her soon-to-be-born grandbaby.
Is there a fine line between supporting a poster who is experiencing problems ( relationships; parenting, faith questions) and enabling them to continue to not find a solution but to keep the problem growing?
To enable is described as empower, permit, authorize
But is there a time when support becomes enabling in a negative sense?
This is something that i have been wondering about. I know that "enabler" is a word often used in AA and I am wondering if it is the same in other life experiences.
Hi, I used to be around WC back in the beginning days but certainly not for awhile. I'm doing my masters in Community Development and online groups have been big in discussions as to whether they do qualify as 'communities' or just social networks. I'm curious to hear what you as members have to say about your involvement and how you would classify this particular online group. Thx.
