Tragedy and trouble struck one day,
The earthquake wiped my whole village away.
As I stand amidst the dust and rubble
Blood and scabs infect my feet
I hear the voices of hope,
Not the voices of defeat.
Buried in the debris, the painful cries ring out
Trapped within the walls, those alive begin to shout
Can the world help me? Will they hear my calls?
Will they break me free?
From this village of broken walls?
Will the world act quickly?
Remove its binding string
That keeps blocking all the aid
That those who care are trying to bring.
When our walls in the village
Came crashing to the ground
Help from our world
Should have been the first and only sound
And while we continue to dig our people out
We wait for you, those who question, those who doubt
Move things forward, break down your restricting walls
And answer to the cries, and our wailing calls.
Don’t hold back the aid
Break down your barricade
For our lives await your helping hand
Help our people, Help our world and our land.
Build a new world for each human
So no matter who is in pain
The world can quickly reach them
And release them from their chain.
With new life, new homes,
no more walls to bind
We will all share one label
That would be “mankind”.
