"Community. Somewhere, there are people to whom we can speak with passion without having the words catch in our throats. Somewhere a circle of hands will open to receive us, eyes will light up as we enter, voices will celebrate with us whenever we come into our own power. Community means strength that joins our strength to do the work that needs to be done. Arms to hold us when we falter. A circle of healing. A circle of friends. Somewhere where we can be free."

This feels like a good place to start writing a blog... these words, this elusive thing called community that I search for and bump into other people who are searching for something of the same. When I meet other people that really want to engage and to do so with respect and compassion and humour and grace and real feelings, I feel like I've found my people, the greater family to which I was born. Maybe that's it.... maybe we were in community once and God left the imprint in our marrow and the Spirit whispers it as we fall asleep...crumbs to find our way back home, our way back to the kin-dom...
