Let me tell you a little story about Siera Bearchell, a 16yr old girl that lives in Moose Jaw Saskatchewan

In Januray 2009 the Bearchell family home burned to the ground, and Siera was left homeless.

So then she entered the miss teen canada beauty pageant  in May, and championed a 'disaster relief' platform.

Siera Bearch is 2nd from the left in this photo below - those are all the other Saskatchewan contestants.

Siera Bearchell won the pageant.

At approx 11pm on Saturday July 25th 2009 she became the 2009 Miss Teen Canada- World.

Siera Bearchell and her mother are best friends, and a powerful combination.

When I asked Siera how she did it? How she aced the beauty pageant, she said she never would have won the pageant without her mother.

It was her mother who miraculously produced garments and shoes from friends and the remains of their burned out home. Her mom helped her find sponosrs and the courage to fly to Toronto and compete for a crown. 

On Wednesday August 19th 2009 I was indeed honoured to spend 2 hours with Siera Bearchell in a parkett in the heart of Toronto.
