1st & 3rd Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. - A free-wheeling discussion of current issues of spirituality, faith and society
Calvin United Church is located in the downtown of Pembroke. We are fully handicap accessible, and surrounded by an abundance of parking. Calvin United is known as the "Friendly Church," as we try to make good on our mission statement, "Christian faith and love in action." There is an enthusiastic commitment to outreach, including a strong support of the Mission & Service Fund, weekly contributions to the local food banks, annual or semi-annual teams of church members traveling inside and outside of Canada to assist in disaster relief efforts, support of the Renfrew Presbytery LAMP Project, direct support to the people of Tanzania, local support to those needing emergency help through the TEAM program of the clergy association, and other initiatives. Calvin United has been a leader in the Pembroke community for many years in the area of church music, and offers dynamic and meaningful worship on Sundays and special days, and meaningful programming and fellowship throughout the week. We hope you will join us!
Sundays - Worship & Sunday School at 10:00 am - Radio Broadcast on STAR FM 96.7 at 11:00 a.m. , 1st Sunday of every month
Pembroke is technically large enough to be a city, complete with all the shopping, medical and cultural amenities of larger centres, but is more like a large town in terms of its down-to-earth and friendly nature. We are located adjacent to the Ottawa River, and surrounded by a natural beauty which includes the eastern gateway to Algonquin Park. Calvin United Church fully participates in the Pembroke & Area Clergy Association where we work closely with other congregations in the ecumenical community.
