At Centennial we stress that all people are made in the image of God. Therefore, all individuals have great worth. We seek to affirm people in their life journey.

We are committed to celebrating life and supporting one another, as we seek to live responsibly in God's creation. As a friendly and caring congregation, we tend one another and our world.

About the Service

Worship is a celebration of our Creator and Creation through words and music. Sunday worship services and Sunday School mark the beginning of a week filled with the opportunity for prayer.

Music plays a vital role in our worship. We use a variety of instruments during worship: a well-maintained 30 rank Casavant Freres organ (purchased in 1910) recently remodelled to a three-manual console; a grand piano; and Wurlitzer Theatre Organ. We are blessed with an excellent choir augmented by talented music scholarship students. On special occasions we have guest instrumentalists (flute, trumpet, horns) and vocalists.

The service starts at 11:00 a.m.

About the Neighbourhood

The church is on the edge of the downtown core of Victoria, in the Burnside Gorge area, which is zoned as mixed industrial. As a downtown church we have a variety of people in the area, rich and poor, artisans and blue-collar workers.

Church Minister

Rev. Alanna Menu

In the secular world Rev. Alanna Menu has been overemployed, underemployed and unemployed during her four other careers (teaching, banking, agriculture, community support worker). She responded to God's call when a congregation told her they wanted her to get ordained and they wanted her to be their minister. Daily prayer (primarily meditation) provides Alanna with a spiritual resource for worship and homilies. 'Practicing the Presence of God', ecumenism and inclusivity are all important concerns for Alanna. God's love shown in the life of Jesus is an inspiration for her whole life.
