Central United Church is a vibrant faith community where there is a place for people of all ages. From childcare for the youngest, to weekly study programs for the adults, opportunities abound for members to meet and to grow with others.

The foundation of our life together is Sunday morning worship. That is when we listen for a word of life and hope, of possibility and power, from God for the times in which we live. It is in worship that God challenges us to go into the world to take up the ministry of compassion that was Christ's own; and it is in worship that God comforts us and cares for us.

About the Service

Sunday Morning Worship - 10:00 AM

Christian Meditation - every Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 7:15 PM

About the Neighbourhood

Our church building is located in an attractive residential neighbourhood towards the west end of Stratford. The surrounding houses are a pleasant mixture of century old and more modern dwellings.

Our large parking lot is easily accessible from Huntingdon Av, one block west of Avondale.

Quick Facts

How do people dress for service?

Some a little dressy, but most casual or what we might call these days "business-casual".

What do children do during the service?

There is a nursery for infants; older children come into church with their families for about the first 10 minutes or so of the service, then go to Sunday School after the Children's story.

What music is played during services?

Hymns are accompanied by organ or piano. Sometimes guest musicians add the sounds of string, brass or woodwind. Once a month the children lead a pre-service sing-song.

What happens after the service?

Coffee, juice, cookies and fellowship in the gym.
