Pope Benedict's new book

What's everyone's thoughts on the new book by Pope Benedict XVI? Is he biblically right about the accounts of the birth of Christ or is it an attack by satan?

Are we not possibly all hybrids of existing life here and elsewhere?

Well, that's the great thing aboot fiction; it need not be constrained by the laws of reality :3  That's part of what makes the Bibble great...

(one of my favourite panspermia concepts was in Larry Niven's universe...we evolved out of a kind of 'space yeast'...)

(here's looking forward to the day when, with just a spray, I can encourage fur to grow on your skin or your eyes to turn into lovely slug stalks...)

universe certainly has a good sense of humour...

Anyhew (said the Master Mason to the Apprentice),

it is part of my spirituality that universe is alive, conscious and has a wicked sense of humour.

As above, so below.

Carl Sagan said we are universe exploring itself...

I think that the main differences between you, me, and that rock over there are trivial...that that which is inorganic (as opposed to organic) is the minority and that there are many, practically erndless ways that universe is constantly mixing up its parts and seeing what happens...experimenting...fecund novelty...every human death diminishes humanity...

we are co(s)mic mutts, our DNA containing bits of viruses, fungi, protozoa, amoebas, etc etc etc...

humanity akhbar!

universe akhbar!

Why is it so important that Mary is a virgin?

It's part of Greek mythology. Gods are often born of virgins.

I'm in stitches.

Grace and peace to you.
