I know that this post has been here for a while, but my prayers for you to have already found some answers and healed some pain.  May you already have found strength in faith.  The peices of the puzzles.  And found peace.

I believe prayer to be very powerful. No matter how small or big the prayer is... God always finds a way to answer it, so long as it is sincere and unselfish. I know when I pray for others, I FEEL BETTER, knowing I am sending them my good energy. It takes more to be negative than positive. I use prayer to heal everyday.

I too have been given the gift of healing. I was told a couple years back that this was my gift and at first I didn't believe it until I started praying for people and seeing things happen.

mgf50 - You are absolutely right that healing is not the same as a cure. There is someone in my church that has severe epilepsy and it doesn't matter how much we pray for him or lay hands on him (we even pulled an all-nighter), he is still not "cured". However, his heart and hurts are continuously being healed though our interactions. I believe that God DOES want to cure him but I think in his case he has a lot of emotional baggage that needs to be dealt with first. The problem is that he wont let us in that far.
Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I agree with you.

I have cerebral palsy.  Ten years ago I  had both hips operaed on to correct the hip dislocation I had since I was a child.  The operation promised to improve my walking and independence.  Now I am no longer able to walks and be independent.

I have been healed not cured.  I have been healed of much of my grief and anger over the situation and have for the most part been able to accept living in a wheelchair and being dependent on others with Grace.  Instead of focusing on my limitation, I've focused on my study of theology.  I no longer belief in the simple faith that if we just pray, God makes life all bettter.  Instead I believe that if we learn to focus on God or Christ, instead of ourselves, we will learn to work with whatever life gives us with  Grace.   This is not an easy jouney but it is a worthwhile and meaning one.  This is what I mean by healing instead of cure.

i am in need of healing, my life has been tipped upside down and scattered every where, I dont know how to pick up the pieces and put this puzzle of my life back in order.
