Redhead - encouraging, supportive, and caring thoughts are with you at this time in your life where things are not the way you would want them to be, especially as you make the transition from "snowglobe" to a Toronto hospital.  May you be surrounded by many loving, caring people who will walk with you on this part of your journey.  May there be some comfort in knowing, that as a Wondercafe Friend, along with many others, that I care, and will support and encourage, hopefully in a helpful way.

I am terribly sorry to hear of this turn of events.

I'm afraid I never really know what to say upon hearing such news.

"Shit!"  Always seems to be the first word that comes to mind.  As far as words go it is neither terribly pastorally advantageous or therapeutic.  It just seems to encapsulate.

Still, right at the moment, "Shit!" is about all I have but none of this is about me.

What words come to your mind?

I was hoping to extend an invitation to come on over and sit on my porch once the snow disasppeared - the offer will always stand, just say the word and I'll come pick you up - or better yet a bunch of you southerners could bundle Red up and bring her here!

In the meantime, I could regale you with the tale of the recent porcupine encounter and how I discovered that heavily medicated my blond dog is like a normal dog!  But only if you have a doctor's note that laughing really really hard is OK.

Words seem so inadequate right now.  I'd like to say shit but it's so out of character for me...oops, I guess I said it, didn't I.  OK....shit!

I read an email from Ninjafaery during my break today at work.  On the way home I was thinking about Redhead and couldn't get over how sad I was feeling.  And a little ticked.....the old "bad things happening to good people" kept creeping into my mind.  I considered how strange that Redhead and I have never "met" in person, yet through phone calls, wondermails and discussions on wondercafe I feel very close to her.

Redhead, I don't know what to offer you.  I wish I could think of just the right thing to say, the right thing to offer, the right thing to do.  I feel fairly helpless at this moment. 

Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you.

It isn't the caring part of the gruop...it is the fact that the group is needed.

dang it...RedHead, you have spent too much time in hospital already to be thrown back there again.

so, i am stomping mentally anyhow..about hte fact that you are...and, wishing that there are others who are being kind & gentle...but, knowing that darn it, right now, i am doing that rant/stomp dance for you....

Oh my, I'm almost speechless.  Would like to just give you a big hug and look you in the eye, and hold your hand for a bit, in silence.  

Redhead, I had no idea that cancer had been a companion on your journey - sorry to hear it's making its presence known again.  I'd been worried by your absence from the cafe in recent times, and missing your adventuresome tales - but now I understand.  I really hate that damn disease.

I'm in the GTA - so if you DO need a real hug or a back-rub, or a friend to giggle with or rage with one afternoon - please do let me know!   Funny how, even though we've never met in person, I feel like there is such a personal bond ... Will keep you in my prayers.  C.

Cancer is a beast.  A multi headed beast.  I am so sorry to hear that it is with you and i am sending you all the positive vibes i can muster.

I too am in toronto and would love to visit and share stories, laughs and starbucks.  All those things are good at killing the beast.

Did you know that if you don't write a subject line, the first few words of your post will be your subject?  So, LBMuskoka, your subject line said "I'm with Rev. John. Shit!"  In the midst of a sad, and concerning time and discussion, that subject line made me laugh out loud!  And Crazyheart's subject "Shit does sound  appropriate."  *snicker*

Ah, Red you are more than welcome and truth be told the porcupine story needs to be told in person since the visual of a dog bouncing all over a truck for 35 minutes is so much easier to convey with body language - not to mention that you will meet the Blond and immediately know that my tale is true and not tall.

Keep practicing your fruit tossing, we shall have a competition when you come and see if snapping turtles prefer lemons or limes.

I had to look it up -- Banana icecream with chocolate chunks and walnuts.

I'm a little late in coming to this group and I really don't know what to say....guess I'll just go with the others and say "shit!!!" I wish I knew what to say. This doesn't seem like enough. Though nothing I say will be enough. I'll just let my tears speak. Too bad people can't see and hear me. I've known about Redhead's situation for a couple of weeks now.  I'm crying as I type this.  I cry because of the unfairness.  I cry because Redhead has become a beloved friend and I so hate that she has to go through this.  I'm mad that I probably won't ever get to meet Redhead in person because I live too far away from her.  She is my wonderful wonderful friend, and I pray for her everyday and send her lots of long distance hugs and lots of love.  I am so very blessed to have her as my friend.
